SAILOR'S SONGS
Created in 1979, the Gabiers d'Artimon, a popular sea shanties group
from the Lorient region (France),
give 30 to 40 concerts a year in Brittany,
but also all over the world with great benefits
in Holland, China, Quebec, or even Russia.
Nous les enfants de Bretagne, nous les aventuriers...
Les Gabiers d'Artimon tell the difficult life of sailors through songs
from a traditional heritage, but also current compositions
(Michel Tonnerre, François Budet, Edouard Lofficial...)
CULTURAL HERITAGE
Nous sommes les gabiers de misaine, nous sommes les gabiers d'artimon...
WORK SONGS
Singing the sea is first and foremost expressing all the joys and sorrows of the sailors on board for many weeks. It's about their living conditions on board.
But it also means using the edge to help with the maneuver such as the edges to turn, the edges to hoist, the edges to move...
For almost 45 years, with more than 200 songs in the repertoire, 14 vinyls and CDs and 1500 concerts on 3 continents, the Gabiers d'Artimon continue to share their good humor through their marinated tunes...
